Nude Woman With Cat - Watercolor & Ink

Image
This was a very quick painting that I did , just to try and let out some emotion! The contrasts and highlights don't show up as well as they do on the actual painting! The background is actually more of a light blue, gray, green! To me it shows up here more as a purple type color, or Indigo, which is not true to the original! If you ever have any questions, please feel free to get a hold of me either by phone or email. Hope you like it! Best wishes! Untitled - Oil On Found Canvas

Happy Halloween everyone! This is the third and final painting in this collection. When I say collection I mean that these are really not a series nor a triptych in as much as people generally relate to them as such. But I like them well enough to where when I do sell these pieces they will be sold as a set of 3.  I hope you like this one as well! Have a safe and fun day! Best wishes! Bus Rider I - Oil

Image
I frequently take the  city bus back and forth across town, it's cheap plus it gives me the challenge & opportunity to sketch the people riding! Anyway I have a stock pile of gestural sketches that I have decided to make paintings from! Of course the people had no idea that I was even sketching them at the time! So made for a very interesting project! For that they did not to hold still for very long! Thanks for stopping by! Best wishes! I know it has bee a while since I posted last, and I apologize for that! I have had a really bad summer cold for the last 2 1/2 weeks :(  But I  am finally starting to feel better :) I guess the good part is it has given my recent paintings a chance to dry! Not real sure what inspired me to paint this picture, but I am happy with the way it turned out! I hope some of you will agree with me :) Thanks for taking the time to stop by and view this painting! But just stick around for a while and they will change :) Just not sure what I'm going to paint next but I'm sure I'll come up with something! Thanks to all of you who have left comments on these pictures I really appreciate it! :) Again I used the opposite end of a paintbrush to apply the gouache with. Here is the second painting of this 3 part series! I hope you all like it! Again I used the the opposite end of one of my paint brushes to apply the gouache with! I think it's kind of a fun little technique! I am very near sighted at times & couldn't quite make out the address on this building, so I painted in my own LOL. Anyway, Thanks a bunch for stopping by today! Please don't forget to check out my auction listing on eBay if you haven't already done so. Boarded Up - Watercolor And Black Gouache

Image
Back before I started this blog I had kind of a crazy, unorthodox way so too speak, of pricing my paintings. Which consisted of mainly 3 different factors. 1.) How well I liked the painting. 2.) Medium 3.) Size But fist & foremost how well I liked it & how emotionally attached I was to it! I have decided to revert back to this method. At least this way you'll know which ones I favor the best!  But rest assured if I post it here I like it, just some more so than others. Todays painting is actually 1 in a 3 part series. I was influenced to paint this picture from these boarded up apartment buildings across the way from one of my studios, not sure exactly why, I just was! I used the opposite end of one of my paint brushes to apply the black gouache with! Anyway I'm really excited about this set of paintings! Thanks for stopping by today! Best wishes! I love being outdoors when the weather is nice, but it has been pretty darn hot & humid here lately! So I got up early when the sun rose to go out & paint these flowers. I love trees, flowers, nature in general. I'm just very bad with the names of plants LOL. I think these are Tiger Lilies though I'm not a 100% sure :) Thanks for taking the time to stop by today, I hope all of you are having a great week so far! Best wishes! Untitled XI - Watercolor & Ink

Image
Thought I would change things up a bit today! At first glance you may see a crazy messed up looking kind of face! But in all actuality that is not what I saw when I was painting this picture. It is actually a far corner with red walls in a dark lit bar, with two pictures, one on each wall, along with a bar table & chair. And no I wasn't drunk when I painted this one LOL. This is just a different approach for me. A friend of mine loaned me this book that I've been reading tilted red. Which I think helped  inspire me to paint this picture! I hope some of you like it! A great big welcome to all of my new followers & thanks to all who have left comments on my work! :) Thanks for stopping by today, hope you all have a wonderful day! Best wishes! Small Landscape Study II - Watercolor and Ink

Image
Good morning all :) I can't decide which painting I like better, yesterdays or todays!? I probably like both pictures equally well! And again the scan of this picture does not do this painting justice! Ok, now it's story time :) I had a question posed to me the other day that came in on a comment, that reads. Judy Ferguson  said... Curious about your oil painting. Most painters don't make the crossover from oil to watercolor. Did you start with oil or watercolor? Answer; I actually started out painting in Acrylics when I was 7 years old, I think I did 2 paintings and decided I didn't like them. Nothing against the medium, but they just weren't for me. So I proceeded to throw a fit LOL.  Until my parents finally gave in and got me a set of water colors & oils, and I have been painting with both ever since.  So there's that story :)  Thanks for asking Judy, I hope I was able to answer your question somewhat. My life is pretty much a

No I haven't lowered my prices! This is just a smaller painting than normal. In fact I'm planning on raising my prices on my 6"x8" water colors & 5"x7" oils starting the first of this next month! Just a little heads up :) And if you are new to collecting my work what better place to start than with this painting! It is a very nicely done original water color at a very affordable price! Anyway I finally got around to dragging out the Winsor & Newton Cotman III watercolor set that my Mom got me for my birthday this lat March! :) Thanks again Mom I love you! I Really like it but it has taken some getting used to. They are sure different from the Winsor & Newton tube paints that I use! But I do like them! Anyway for some reason I think the color scan on this painting seems duller to me than the colors on the original painting! And we have had quite a lot of rain here lately, so the sky has been a little cloudy & gray lately. But I was able

I wasn't exactly finished with this painting when all of a sudden my friend yelled " STOP!" So I stopped LOL. He said "It reminds me of Klee" What are your takes on this picture? Water Color - Impression Iris Field

Image
Congratulations to the winning bidder on my eBay painting yesterday! I have been painting quite a few Iris picture lately, there's a house across the street from me that has just a ton of these beautiful blue Iris's growing right on the corner that I go by all the time just to see, sketch & paint the flowers! I have one oil painting finished that I'm still waiting for it to dry & one that's almost finished! I have decided that if the painting will fit on my scanner I will scan it instead of trying to photograph it! But the picture needs to dry before I can scan it LOL. It seems like I can take pretty decent photos of everything but my paintings LOL :) Which is why I decided to scan all of my paintings! Anyway I hope you all like today's picture. And a very warm welcome to all of my new followers :) And thanks for all of your wonderful comments! I hope you all have a Fantastic Day! Best Wishes! Water Color - Impression Bush With Red Flowers

Image
We have been getting quite a bit of rain lately! So my paintings have a tendency to reflect  the atmosphere, or at least I try to capture that area around my motif! I apologize about not keeping up with my regular posting. But I assure you I still paint/sketch everyday! I've been just a tad bit frustrated with this one oil painting that I have been working on LOL. Sometimes they come together & sometimes they don't :) And I'm almost afraid this particular oil painting might become a don't LOL. But enough sad talk. I do hope that you all like today's painting! Thank you for stopping by to take a look at it! And a GREAT BIG THANK YOU, to all of you for your wonderful comments! Please check out my painting on eBay if you haven't already done so. Today's the last day for it! And it is selling! And some lucky person is going to end up owning it! Thanks Again! Best Wishes! Today is kind of a dreary, rainy day, kinda like it was about a week and a half ago when I painted this picture. Even though it was cloudy and rainy I still felt this made for a very nice painting! Hope all of you had a great weekend! And thank you all so very much for all of your wonderful comments on yesterdays painting! They made my weekend :) Thanks for taking the time to stop by today! I got so excited yesterday when I was working on cleaning up my studio when all of a sudden I came across these four older paintings! Two of them are from 2005! And the other two are from 2008! Anyway I couldn't believe I found them, I was so excited about it that I decided that I would  post them here for you all to see! Winter Remnant 2010

Image
Sorry about yesterday, but I've been a bit under the weather :(  In fact I'm still not feeling well today & had to literally force myself to paint! Anyway I hope you are having a wonderful week :) This is a painting that I derived from a photo I took a couple of weeks back, when we still had a little snow left on the ground in places. And I couldn't resist taking this picture of this boy out playing in the remains of the snow :) What I assume to be what was left of a snowman! But what really got me was the size of the snow ball in comparison to the kid playing with it! It was darn near as big as he was! I  also really liked the yellow in his cap & the toy car in the background! Now of course this painting is for sale, But I think it only fair of me to offer this to his parents first! But you get first look at it :) It's raining here today & I'm still sick, but I should be able to hopefully meet with them tomorrow or the day after. And then if they dec

Abstract Expressionism - Water Color & Gouache - Untitled II

Image
I am almost PETRIFIED to POST THIS PAINTING! Actually there is no almost to it! I'm literally scared to death! I may even loose a few followers over this one :(  Truly Hope Not! YOU ALL mean the WORLD to me! No Guts No Glory Right? This one is totally & completely out of my natural realm! Todays painting differs quite a bit from the one that SOLD yesterday! :) So I thought I would try a similar approach with today's painting. First let me please start off by saying that  I had absolutely NO forethought or idea in mind when I started this painting as to what the finished painting would look like! That's kind of where the luck factor comes into play! This painting literally took on a shape & life all of its own! The background was put in with a VERY light under wash of Cadmium Yellow Medium, so the the paper is not  white, even though it kind of has that appearance! Now for the red shapes that you see are like yesterdays painting in that I used a pouring method, NO

Abstract Expressionism - Water Color - Untitled I

This is kind a first time experiment for me  with this style & technique in this particular media! I painted this picture using a pouring method & was happy with the colors & designs it created! So I'm posting it here for you to critique! Please don't  tell me DON'T quit my day job. Oh wait, this is my day job lol. :) Any I hope it creates some kind of emotional response, in which case it has succeeded in doing its job!
