Boarded Up - Watercolor And Black Gouache

Image
Back before I started this blog I had kind of a crazy, unorthodox way so too speak, of pricing my paintings. Which consisted of mainly 3 different factors. 1.) How well I liked the painting. 2.) Medium 3.) Size But fist & foremost how well I liked it & how emotionally attached I was to it! I have decided to revert back to this method. At least this way you'll know which ones I favor the best!  But rest assured if I post it here I like it, just some more so than others. Todays painting is actually 1 in a 3 part series. I was influenced to paint this picture from these boarded up apartment buildings across the way from one of my studios, not sure exactly why, I just was! I used the opposite end of one of my paint brushes to apply the black gouache with! Anyway I'm really excited about this set of paintings! Thanks for stopping by today! Best wishes! I love being outdoors when the weather is nice, but it has been pretty darn hot & humid here lately! So I got up early when the sun rose to go out & paint these flowers. I love trees, flowers, nature in general. I'm just very bad with the names of plants LOL. I think these are Tiger Lilies though I'm not a 100% sure :) Thanks for taking the time to stop by today, I hope all of you are having a great week so far! Best wishes! Untitled XI - Watercolor & Ink

Thought I would change things up a bit today! At first glance you may see a crazy messed up looking kind of face! But in all actuality that is not what I saw when I was painting this picture. It is actually a far corner with red walls in a dark lit bar, with two pictures, one on each wall, along with a bar table & chair. And no I wasn't drunk when I painted this one LOL. This is just a different approach for me. A friend of mine loaned me this book that I've been reading tilted red. Which I think helped  inspire me to paint this picture! I hope some of you like it! A great big welcome to all of my new followers & thanks to all who have left comments on my work! :) Thanks for stopping by today, hope you all have a wonderful day! Best wishes! Small Landscape Study II - Watercolor and Ink

Good morning all :) I can't decide which painting I like better, yesterdays or todays!? I probably like both pictures equally well! And again the scan of this picture does not do this painting justice! Ok, now it's story time :) I had a question posed to me the other day that came in on a comment, that reads. Judy Ferguson  said... Curious about your oil painting. Most painters don't make the crossover from oil to watercolor. Did you start with oil or watercolor? Answer; I actually started out painting in Acrylics when I was 7 years old, I think I did 2 paintings and decided I didn't like them. Nothing against the medium, but they just weren't for me. So I proceeded to throw a fit LOL.  Until my parents finally gave in and got me a set of water colors & oils, and I have been painting with both ever since.  So there's that story :)  Thanks for asking Judy, I hope I was able to answer your question somewhat. My life is pretty much a

No I haven't lowered my prices! This is just a smaller painting than normal. In fact I'm planning on raising my prices on my 6"x8" water colors & 5"x7" oils starting the first of this next month! Just a little heads up :) And if you are new to collecting my work what better place to start than with this painting! It is a very nicely done original water color at a very affordable price! Anyway I finally got around to dragging out the Winsor & Newton Cotman III watercolor set that my Mom got me for my birthday this lat March! :) Thanks again Mom I love you! I Really like it but it has taken some getting used to. They are sure different from the Winsor & Newton tube paints that I use! But I do like them! Anyway for some reason I think the color scan on this painting seems duller to me than the colors on the original painting! And we have had quite a lot of rain here lately, so the sky has been a little cloudy & gray lately. But I was able
